to Monitor and analyze data within the system
Problem Description:
Legacy systems still in use today were
not designed to be a part of larger networks.
As a consequence, these systems lack the
error checking built in to most network
protocols and are prone to data loss and
data corruption.

What onEdge will do
  • Read physically transmitted data going into, or coming out of the network
  • Transfer the data to a computer with software designed to identify these signals, and ensure their integrity
    • This will be defined by the protocols in use on the system
  • Ensure the interface is alive. That is, make sure the link between the legacy system and the network is functioning properly
  • Provide pre-underway health checks of the network
  • Provide a customizable user interface for end users to inspect the current rate of errors on the network
  • Alert users when network health has reached unacceptable levels
  • Allow add-ons to be developed for additional features such as:
    • Off site monitoring
    • Error prediction and trending
    • Smart Logging
      • Logging based on algorithms developed to save space, yet still gather information during critical time periods
What onEdge will not do
  • Make any changes to the network’s operations. It will only listen
  • Automatically fix any errors occurring in the network
  • Give a 100% accurate identification of the culprit causing network issues
  • Attempt to repair any malformed messages
